Zombies have become an enduring symbol of the horror genre, captivating fans across the spectrum, whether you’re a fan of B-grade cult classics or blockbuster series like The Walking Dead.

Personally, I have a particular affection for the traditional, shambling zombie, so when the chance presented itself to organise a zombie-themed photoshoot, I eagerly embraced it!

This extraordinary photoshoot unfolded under the cover of night in an ancient, atmospheric graveyard nestled along a secluded country road just north of Adelaide, South Australia.

As a passionate South Australian photographer, I had the privilege of collaborating with a talented model who wholeheartedly embraced the “Zombie” persona with genuine enthusiasm. Her family skillfully created the special effects makeup, expertly bringing our haunting Halloween vision to vivid life.

Despite the cool evening air, the scene was bathed in light from two static sources, as my Speedlights unfortunately didn’t arrive in time. The haunting ambiance provided the perfect backdrop for crafting unforgettable Halloween photographs.
